Handmade welcome sign captures Earth's colors in wood grain

Original: Just made a 'welcome' sign. The colors on the board grain represent the simplest colors of the planet: deep oceans, seas

A crafter has created a wooden welcome sign in which the board's natural grain is colored to represent the planet's basic features: deep oceans, seas and rivers, fertile lands, deserts, forests, ice caps, islands and tropical waters. The piece is finished with a wash of golden light and a pearl glaze, and the maker says the effect shows best in person. The post has drawn warm engagement from readers who enjoy handmade art.

Why now: The maker just finished and shared the artwork, drawing appreciation for its craft and original concept
