Aid appeal for Palestinian student stresses dignity over exceptionalism

Original: Palestinians shouldn't have to be exceptional to receive help to eat, have shelter, get an education. I will not extol A

Supporters are raising money for a Palestinian man named Ahmed, saying he should not have to prove himself exceptional to receive basics like food, shelter and education. The appeal aims to reach 42 of 250 dollars by the coming Sunday to help him survive and become self-reliant, with the poster refusing to exaggerate his virtues to attract donations.

Why now: Ongoing hardship in Gaza and appeals for direct grassroots aid keep drawing public attention and fundraising efforts.
