A viral trend has people opening Google Maps, selecting locations across India and switching to Street View to try to find a spot without visible trash on the ground. Participants say it is nearly impossible to find a litter-free street, and posts framed it as evidence of poor waste management, with some commentators drawing controversial comparisons to immigration and cleanliness debates in the United States.

Why now: Viral posts mocking street cleanliness in India are driving engagement and reigniting online arguments about sanitation and culture.
