Apple to hold 'Welcome Home' smart home event

Original: apple event

Apple has announced an event titled 'Welcome Home', signaling its return to the smart home market. The company is expected to unveil new home-focused products and updates to its smart home ecosystem. Attention is on what hardware or software Apple will introduce and how it plans to compete with rivals in the connected home space.

Why now: Apple rarely holds product events, so a dedicated smart home event suggests major new home devices are imminent.
