San Jose police shoot armed landlord, tenant recounts
Original: San Jose police shooting: Tenant says landlord was armed before being fatally shot by officers
Police in San Jose fatally shot a landlord, and a tenant says the man was armed when officers confronted him. The account raises questions about how the encounter unfolded and whether the shooting was justified. Details from police have been limited so far, and the tenant's description is among the first public accounts of what happened before the fatal shots were fired.
Why now: A new witness account contradicting or adding to official information about a fatal police shooting is drawing attention.
