Ukrainian special forces destroy Russian Pantsir on defense tower

Original: A Russian Pantsir air defense system is destroyed atop a dedicated air defense tower in new footage from the SSU’s Alpha

New footage released by Ukraine's Security Service shows the SSU's Alpha unit destroying a Russian Pantsir air defense system mounted on a purpose-built elevated tower. Russia has been erecting these raised platforms to give air defense systems like the Pantsir a better radar view and improved coverage against low-flying targets. The strike highlights the vulnerability of even elevated systems to Ukrainian attack drones and precision fire.

Why now: The footage shows Ukraine neutralizing a high-value Russian air defense asset, and demonstrates the limits of Russia's elevated-platform strategy
