Original: Two ships hit by drones of unknown origin off Bulgarian coast – Europe live https://www. theguardian.com/world/live/202
Two ships have been hit by drones of unknown origin off the Bulgarian coast in the Black Sea, according to the Guardian's Europe live coverage. The incident follows a series of drone sightings and attacks linked to the war in Ukraine, and authorities have not said who was responsible. It has drawn attention to shipping risks in the Black Sea and to NATO-member Bulgaria's proximity to the conflict.
Why now: Drone attacks reaching a NATO member's waters mark an escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war's spillover into Europe.
