Steven Gerrard would reject medal if Man City stripped of titles
Original: Steven Gerrard says he would reject Premier League medal if Manchester City stripped of titles
Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard says he would turn down a retrospective Premier League winners' medal even if Manchester City are stripped of their titles amid the club's financial rule case. Gerrard, whose Liverpool side famously finished second to City by a single point in 2019, said he would not want a medal awarded in such circumstances.
Why now: Manchester City's ongoing Premier League charges hearing has raised the possibility of titles being stripped, prompting reaction from figures like Gerrard whose teams narrowly missed out.
