SpaceX launch may paint glowing 'jellyfish cloud' over Maryland
Original: SpaceX launch could create glowing ‘jellyfish cloud’ over Maryland
A SpaceX launch could produce a glowing 'jellyfish cloud' visible in the skies over Maryland, the Baltimore Sun reports. Such clouds form when rocket exhaust at high altitude catches sunlight shortly after launch or before dawn, creating a bright, expanding plume. Residents in the region are being told they may be able to see the unusual effect if skies are clear.
Why now: SpaceX launches regularly draw attention when their exhaust plumes create striking visual effects visible to the public.
