Trumpet recital programme spans Bloch to Takemitsu

Original: @ classicalmusic Ernest Bloch: Proclamation für Trompete und Klavier Johann W. Hertel: Trompetenkonzert Nr. 1 Es-Dur Han

A classical music programme centred on the trumpet is drawing attention, listing works including Ernest Bloch's Proclamation for trumpet and piano, Johann Wilhelm Hertel's Trumpet Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major, Hans Erich Apostel's Sonata in three movements op. 42a, Tristan Keuris's Prelude, Scherzo with Trio and Fugue, and Toru Takemitsu's Paths.

Why now: Music listeners are sharing and discussing an unusually wide-ranging trumpet repertoire pairing rarely heard 20th-century works.
