The UK has concluded that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was almost certainly behind a threat against RAF Fairford airbase. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas joined counterparts in condemning Iran, saying its campaign of intimidation and chaos extends well beyond the Middle East. The finding points to Iranian hostile activity reaching directly into European soil.

Why now: Iran's hostile actions being formally attributed to European soil by the UK and condemned at EU level is a significant security development.
