Micah Nori gives Trail Blazers staff Hemingway paperbacks
Original: Micah Nori is taking an Ernest Hemingway approach with Blazers players, coaches https://www. nytimes.com/athletic/767619
Portland Trail Blazers assistant Micah Nori handed each of his coaches a paperback copy of Ernest Hemingway's work, hoping the author's spare, direct style will help staff communicate more clearly with players. The gesture is drawing attention as a distinctive, literary approach to coaching ahead of the new NBA season.
Why now: It is an unusual, human-interest coaching story involving a high-profile NBA team right before the season.
