Military archbishop condemns livestream of Fort Hood shooter execution

Original: Military archbishop condemns plan to livestream Fort Hood shooter execution

A US military archbishop has condemned plans to livestream the execution of the Fort Hood shooter, arguing the broadcast would be an inappropriate spectacle for a state-sanctioned killing. The objection comes as preparations advance for the first federal execution in decades, drawing debate over dignity, transparency and the ethics of televising an inmate's death at Fort Leavenworth.

Why now: The case is back in the news as the planned execution approaches, and the religious objection to broadcasting it has sparked debate
