Hot summer brings apples to Icelandic trees
Original: Apple in iceland This summer was unseasonally hot, giving us actual apples and plums on the trees # climatechange is Rea
Iceland's unusually warm summer has produced a rare sight: apples and plums growing outdoors. One resident said trees planted by their mother 15 years ago have survived but almost never fruited until now. The post, shared widely, ties the harvest to climate change, with commenters noting how far north fruit cultivation is becoming viable.
Why now: An unusually hot Icelandic summer made outdoor fruit growth possible, prompting people to discuss visible signs of climate change.
