Warm autumn keeps geraniums blooming past first frost
Original: My summer flowers are unstoppable. Add the geraniums in the front of the house. I don't have the heart to throw them out
A gardener reports their summer geraniums in the front of the house are still thriving well into autumn, saying they cannot bring themselves to discard them or replace them with fall asters. In a typical year a killing frost would have arrived by now, but it is running at least two weeks late, extending the flower season unusually long.
Why now: An unusually mild autumn delaying the first frost has gardeners commenting on their still-flourishing summer plants.
