Original: In Praise of John Cale, the Superior Velvet Article URL: https:// thequietus.com/subscriber-area /low-culture-essay/john

A new essay published on The Quietus argues that John Cale, the Welsh avant-garde musician and founding member of the Velvet Underground, deserves more recognition than he typically receives. The piece, filed under the site's low culture section, positions Cale as the superior creative force from the band and is drawing attention among music readers online.

Why now: The essay's contrarian claim that Cale outshone his famous band is sparking debate among Velvet Underground fans and music critics.
