Cannabis Group Urges Congress to Reject Blanket Hemp THC Ban
Original: Cannabis Advocacy Group Lobbies Congress to Avoid ‘Blanket Ban’ on Hemp THC Products
A cannabis advocacy group is lobbying members of Congress to oppose a blanket ban on hemp-derived THC products. The industry fears sweeping restrictions could outlaw a wide range of hemp items sold legally since the 2018 Farm Bill, and is pushing lawmakers to consider narrower rules instead. The effort highlights a growing policy fight in Washington over how to regulate intoxicating hemp products.
Why now: Lawmakers are weighing restrictions on hemp-derived THC, and the industry is mobilizing to influence the outcome.
