A social media post is urging UK journalists to directly ask every far-right politician whether they support the Royal Marines machine-gunning refugees at sea, saying their answers should be made public. The comment reflects growing anger over hardline rhetoric on Channel crossings and concern that extreme proposals are entering mainstream political debate, with criticism also aimed at the press for not pressing politicians harder.
Why now: Rising far-right rhetoric about migrants crossing the Channel has sparked alarm about extreme proposals and the media's failure to challenge them.
