Super-recognizer spots man who hid for eleven months
Original: super-recognizer
A man who had been in hiding for eleven months was identified after his face gave him away, with reports crediting a so-called super-recognizer — a person with an exceptional ability to remember and match faces. German media, including Hamburger Morgenpost, are covering the case, highlighting how rare facial-recognition skills can succeed where conventional searches fail.
Why now: The unusual use of a super-recognizer's rare ability to end an eleven-month disappearance is drawing attention.
