New app turns the iPhone into a retro Sony Walkman

Original: apple iphone duo

A new app is recreating the feel of the Sony Walkman on the iPhone, tapping into 1990s nostalgia. The app mimics the classic cassette-player experience on Apple devices, and coverage in Germany is driving discussion alongside wider interest in the US about retro-tech revivals on modern smartphones.

Why now: Nostalgia for 1990s gadgets and retro-styled apps is currently popular, drawing attention to this Walkman-inspired iPhone app.
