Scientists explain how bending light could enable invisibility
Original: To turn invisible, we need to tweak the path light travels
A new report on the science of invisibility says the key lies in controlling the path that light takes around an object. By tweaking how light travels, materials could in principle guide rays around a space, making whatever is inside undetectable to the eye. Researchers continue to study metamaterials and other approaches to achieve this effect.
Why now: Fresh coverage of light-bending research sparks interest in how close science is to real invisibility
