UCO Theatre Arts stages feminist Dracula retelling
Original: UCO Theatre Arts Presents ‘Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really,’ Oct. 29-Nov. 1
The University of Central Oklahoma's Theatre Arts programme is presenting 'Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really', running October 29 to November 1. The production reimagines Bram Stoker's classic vampire tale through a feminist lens, framing it as a story of revenge. It is part of the university's theatre season, offering students stage roles and local audiences a fresh take on a familiar gothic story.
Why now: A local university theatre production reworking a famous novel into a feminist revenge story draws attention for its provocative angle.
