Zelensky says Russia violated Trump's energy ceasefire
Original: Zelensky says Russia already violated Trump’s surprise energy ceasefire
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says Russia has already violated an energy ceasefire brokered in a surprise deal with US President Donald Trump. The claim came shortly after the agreement was announced, casting doubt on whether Moscow intends to honour the halt on strikes against energy infrastructure. It adds to deep scepticism about Russia's willingness to de-escalate, with Kyiv warning that violations undermine trust in any broader peace process.
Why now: The alleged violation calls into question the credibility of a major new US-brokered ceasefire and the prospects for peace talks
