Police seize robot after alleged groping of teenage girl
Original: Police confiscate robot that groped 16-year-old girl, probe whether young men were at the controls
Police have confiscated a robot accused of groping a 16-year-old girl and are investigating whether young men were remotely controlling the machine when the incident occurred. The case raises questions about accountability when human operators direct robot behaviour, and authorities have not yet said what charges, if any, will be brought.
Why now: The unusual allegation that a robot was used to grope a minor, and the question of who is responsible, is drawing widespread attention.
