Russia strikes Kyiv energy plant with ballistic missiles
Original: Russia has struck Kyiv energy infrastructure with ballistic missiles, Ukraine received no warning from partners – Zelens
Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv on the evening of 13 October, hitting the Darnytsia Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHPP-4) and other energy infrastructure. President Zelenskyy said Ukraine received no warning from its partners about the strike, raising questions about intelligence-sharing and air defence support as winter approaches.
Why now: The strike on critical energy infrastructure and the complaint about a lack of warning from allies have sparked concern about Ukraine's preparations for winter and the reliability of Western support.
