NB Power urged to choose clean energy over fossil fuels
Original: NB Power has a choice. Keep burning fossil fuels or take climate change seriously
New Brunswick's utility, NB Power, is facing calls to decide between continuing to burn fossil fuels or taking meaningful action on climate change. Critics argue the Crown corporation has a clear choice as the province grapples with emissions and energy planning. The piece, published by NB Media Co-op, frames the decision as urgent for the region's climate future and questions the utility's commitment to a transition away from carbon-intensive power generation.
Why now: Ongoing debate over NB Power's energy strategy and climate commitments has put the utility's fossil fuel use under scrutiny.
