Mendis and Shanaka deny Pakistan T20 series clean sweep

Original: Sri Lanka captain Mendis and Shanaka deny Pakistan clean sweep in T20 series

Sri Lanka, led by captain Kusal Mendis and all-rounder Dasun Shanaka, beat Pakistan in the final match of their T20 series, preventing Pakistan from completing a clean sweep. The stand-in resistance from the Sri Lankan pair gave the tourists a consolation win after Pakistan had dominated the earlier games in the series.

Why now: Pakistan had been on course to sweep the series, so Sri Lanka's late win is notable cricket news.
