A Look Back at The Playboy Club Pilot
Original: PILOT REVISITED: The Playboy Club
The Playboy Club, NBC's short-lived 2011 drama set in a 1960s Chicago Playboy Club, is being revisited in a retrospective look at its pilot episode. The series, which starred Amber Heard and Eddie Cibrian, was cancelled after just a few episodes amid low ratings and protests over its content. Retrospectives like this examine how the show fell short and what might have been done differently.
Why now: Nostalgia and retrospective coverage of notable failed television pilots continues to draw interest from TV fans.
