'ICE ICE ICE' graffiti spotted in LA's Blade Runner tunnel
Original: ICE ICE ICE Say Boy From 2nd Street tunnel (of Bladerunner fame), on a bike ride in LA last year. Weirdly just popped up
Graffiti reading 'ICE ICE ICE' has drawn attention after a Los Angeles cyclist photographed it in the downtown 2nd Street Tunnel, a location famous for its appearances in films including Blade Runner. The phrase is being read as a protest reference to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement amid ongoing controversy over immigration raids in California, with the image recirculating as political street art.
Why now: Anger over ICE enforcement actions in Los Angeles is surfacing as protest graffiti, and the Blade Runner filming location gives the image added cultural resonance.
