US says Chinese hackers breached DOJ, NASA and Fed
Original: US Says Chinese Hackers Attacked DOJ, NASA, Federal Reserve, Senate
US officials say Chinese-linked hackers carried out cyberattacks on multiple federal agencies, including the Justice Department, NASA, the Federal Reserve and the Senate. The disclosure points to a broad espionage campaign targeting core US government institutions. Commentators are debating the scale of the intrusions, what data may have been taken, and how Washington will respond to Beijing.
Why now: A major new disclosure of Chinese hacking against multiple top US government agencies is alarming and politically charged.
