Original: “It's turning officials into robots” - Draymond Green blasts the NBA's plan to test smart basketball technology
Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has criticised the NBA's plan to test smart basketball technology, arguing that computerised calls would strip judgment away from human referees. He said the technology is 'turning officials into robots', reflecting broader player concern that automated systems could overtake human decision-making in officiating. The league's experimentation with sensor-equipped basketballs is now drawing debate.
Why now: The NBA's move to trial smart basketball technology has sparked pushback from a high-profile player over the future of officiating.
