Mao of Japanese rock band Sadie has spoken about the band's first album in 12 years, PANDRA, saying it marks a break with the band's past cycle. The five members chose a member-first approach for the record. Their first fully new song in 11 years, Aku no Hana, released September 23, required the melody to be rewritten eight times as Mao confronted fears that the band's older sound was better.
Why now: The veteran visual kei band's rare new album and the singer's candid comments about creative struggles are drawing fan attention.
