Is the internet finally unusable? Time to go back to faxes and landlines
A Guardian commentary argues that society embraced the internet and then forgot how to do things in the real world, asking whether the web has become so cluttered, unreliable and frustrating that older technologies like faxes and landlines deserve another look. The piece frames everyday online life — searching, calling, booking — as increasingly broken, and suggests rediscovering offline alternatives.
Why now: It taps into widespread frustration with the declining quality of the modern internet.
