Reports say Donald Trump and Xi Jinping are set to meet in China around the APEC summit, with trade, the future of TikTok and the Russia-Ukraine war expected to dominate discussions. The meeting is being read as an attempt to ease US-China tensions after months of tariff disputes, coming alongside continued diplomatic pressure over the war in Ukraine.
Why now: A possible face-to-face meeting between Trump and Xi would mark a major development in US-China trade relations.
