A quote from author Douglas Adams is being shared widely: "We don't have to save the world. The world is big enough to look after itself. What we have to be concerned about is whether or not the world we live in will be capable of sustaining us in it." The line reframes environmental debate around human survival rather than saving the planet itself, and commenters appear to be using it to push back on the familiar "save the world" framing of climate activism.
Why now: The quote offers a memorable reframing of climate arguments, making it a popular share in environmental discussions.
