Japan's baseball Climax Series finals begin with new rules
Original: ベースボールライブ
Nippon Professional Baseball's Climax Series Final Stage is underway, with Hanshin Tigers facing the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in the Central League. A new rule this year sees the Central League first-to-four-wins format applied over four games while the Pacific League uses five, prompting discussion over why the number of wins required differs between the leagues. Broadcaster Nippon TV and streaming services are carrying coverage across Japan.
Why now: The Climax Series finals are being played right now under newly introduced rules that have confused fans.
