UNEP's Role at COP25 Climate Talks
Original: UNEP at COP25 | UNEP - UN Environment Programme
The UN Environment Programme's involvement in the COP25 climate conference is in focus. UNEP, the UN's leading environmental body, typically uses the summit to push for stronger national commitments, present emissions-gap research and support negotiations on implementing the Paris Agreement rules. Attention centres on how far governments are willing to go on emissions cuts and climate finance at the talks.
Why now: COP25 climate negotiations are drawing attention to the UN Environment Programme's role in pushing for stronger global action.
