EveryLibrary urges supporters to run for office to save libraries
Original: You do not need a political background to make a real difference. https:// action.everylibrary.org/want_t o_save_librari
EveryLibrary, a US library advocacy organisation, is encouraging ordinary people to run for local office, arguing that a political background is not needed to make a real difference for libraries. The campaign links readers and librarians to resources for entering elected roles, as communities across the country face book bans, funding cuts and political pressure on library boards.
Why now: Library advocates are mobilising supporters to counter book bans and funding threats through local elections.
