Ukraine's military loses access to Starlink
Original: Ukrainian military’s access to Starlink satellite internet suddenly restricted
Ukrainian forces reported sudden restrictions on their access to SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service. The disruption coincided with Russia launching ballistic missiles at Ukraine, without advance warning from the United States, raising concerns that the outage could affect Ukraine's battlefield communications and air defence coordination. Elon Musk's SpaceX operates the network, which has been vital to Ukraine's war effort.
Why now: The outage coinciding with a Russian missile strike has sparked concern that SpaceX or US policy changes are undermining Ukraine's defences.
