Original: SpaceX Restricts Military Starshield Speeds in Ukraine, Disrupting Pentagon-Funded Tactical Drone Operations
SpaceX has restricted the connection speeds available on its military Starshield service in Ukraine, disrupting tactical drone operations funded by the Pentagon, according to a report from SatNews Publishers. The limits affect US-backed battlefield systems that rely on Starlink's secure military variant for connectivity. The move raises new questions about the company's control over critical wartime infrastructure.
Why now: SpaceX's unilateral control over a Pentagon-funded wartime system highlights tensions between the company and the US military.
