Original: Kevin Pietersen tells ECB he will not promote gambling site while on England duty
Kevin Pietersen has told the England and Wales Cricket Board he will not promote a gambling site while working with the England team during an international tournament. The assurance follows scrutiny of the former batsman's commercial commitments and of gambling sponsorship's place in cricket. The ECB has been seeking clarity over potential conflicts of interest surrounding his broadcasting and ambassadorial roles.
Why now: Concerns over conflicts of interest between Pietersen's gambling sponsorship deal and his media role with England have put the arrangement under scrutiny.
