Wildlife officials offer refunds as deer disease reports continue

Original: Wildlife officials offer hunting license refunds as deer disease reports continue

Wildlife officials are offering refunds to hunters holding licenses as reports of a deer disease continue to come in, according to the Argus Leader. The refund program affects hunting licenses in regions where the outbreak has been documented. The development matters to hunters and rural communities that depend on the deer season, and it signals growing official concern about the spread of the disease among deer populations.

Why now: Ongoing deer disease reports are prompting wildlife agencies to compensate hunters with license refunds.
