SpaceX Speed Limits Said to Hamper Ukrainian Drones During Russian Attack
Original: SpaceX Speed Limits Disrupt Ukraine's Drone Operations During Russian Attack
Reports claim SpaceX-imposed speed limits on its satellite internet service disrupted Ukrainian drone operations while Russia carried out an attack. The company reportedly restricts terminal speeds in certain regions, and Ukrainian units said the limitation affected their ability to operate drones during the assault. The reports have drawn attention to SpaceX's control over connectivity used on the battlefield.
Why now: Ukraine's reliance on SpaceX connectivity for battlefield operations makes any restriction during a Russian attack highly consequential and contentious.
