Google reportedly linking phone numbers across all signed-in accounts
Original: Google is silently linking your phone number across all signed-in accounts
Reports say Google is automatically verifying Android devices and connecting a user's phone number to every Google account signed in on that device, without a clear prompt or explicit opt-in. This could silently link identities across multiple accounts. The report has drawn significant attention among Android users concerned about privacy, account separation, and how Google handles phone number verification behind the scenes.
Why now: Users are concerned about privacy and identity linking happening without their explicit consent.
