Istanbul students await word on university closures
Original: istanbul
Attention in Istanbul is on whether universities will close tomorrow, 15 October 2026. Students and staff are watching for announcements from university rectorates, with Turkish media reporting that all eyes are on official statements to confirm which institutions will declare a holiday. No blanket closure has been confirmed, leaving people to check rectorate announcements individually.
Why now: Weather or another disruption is expected on 15 October, so Istanbul residents are checking whether universities will close.
