Amsterdam police seize server of Italian activist ISP at US request
Original: Amsterdam police confiscates server left-wing ISP A/I at American request
Amsterdam police have confiscated a server belonging to Autistici/Inventati, an Italian left-wing internet service provider, acting on a request from the United States. The case raises questions about cross-border law enforcement reaching into European hosting infrastructure, and it is drawing attention from privacy advocates and the technical community, who worry about the implications for activist and independent online services hosted in Europe.
Why now: Cross-border seizure of European-hosted activist infrastructure at American request alarms privacy and digital rights communities.
