Old Video of Tommy Robinson's Canada Detention Recirculates
Original: Old Video of Tommy Robinson's Canada Detention Resurfaces Online
Footage from 2019, when UK activist Tommy Robinson was detained by Canadian border officials in Montreal before being refused entry, is circulating widely again online. In the clip, Robinson, founder of the English Defence League, said officers questioned him for hours and deported him over a visa issue. He had been travelling to speak at an event in Toronto. Commenters are debating both the treatment of Robinson and why the episode is drawing fresh attention now.
Why now: The arrest of actor Jonathan Barak has renewed interest in his prior work, including this film.
