Latin America's largest bridge to link Salvador and Itaparica

Construction is moving forward on the Salvador–Ilha de Itaparica bridge in Bahia, set to be the largest in Latin America. The project, backed by around R$ 3 billion in investment, will cut the crossing time between Salvador and Itaparica Island from about an hour by ferry to roughly 15 minutes by car. It is being followed closely as one of Brazil's biggest current infrastructure works.
