Sally Rooney halts UK book sales over Palestine Action stance
Original: Sally Rooney can no longer sell books in UK due to Palestine Action support
Author Sally Rooney says she can no longer sell her books in the United Kingdom, citing her public support for Palestine Action, the pro-Palestinian group banned by the UK government as a terrorist organisation. Under the ban, expressing support for the group can be a criminal offence, and Rooney's statement has reignited debate about the law's impact on free expression.
Why now: Her statement highlights controversy over the UK's ban of Palestine Action and its chilling effect on speech and publishing.
