Iran's Ghalibaf mocks US Treasury Secretary with sarcastic 'Nobel in Practical Physics'

Original: Ghalibaf mocks US Treasury Sec. with 'Nobel in Practical Physics' over failed predictions

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has mocked US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, awarding him a sarcastic 'Nobel in Practical Physics' over what Tehran describes as failed economic predictions. The jibe, reported by Iranian state news agencies, is being framed domestically as a retort to American forecasts about Iran's economy and the impact of sanctions, which officials in Tehran say failed to materialise.

Why now: The sarcastic award is circulating amid ongoing US-Iran tensions and disputes over the predicted economic effects of American pressure.
